Hour of Code

 This week we celebrate the Hour of Code. 

According to the website Codeconquest:  "Coding is what makes it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites. Your browser, your OS, the apps on your phone, Facebook, and this website – they’re all made with code."

First, watch 2 of the videos below (YOUR CHOICE):

      

       

Next, you will go to the Code.org to explore the world of coding.  
Be prepared to share what you are creating with the rest of the class. Here are some talking points you can use when you share:

• What coding activity did you choose? Why?

• Share what you have coded so far.

• What other coding activities  look like fun to you?

• What is a coding activity that you would like to try next?

• Is coding important?  Why or why not?

• Does your future job require coding (you may have to research this)?
